A voice migration rescued mid-port
The challenge
Moving from on-prem PBX to hosted SIP, the carrier’s porting team missed scheduled number ports twice, taking business lines down.
The result
Voice restored within hours via escalation, future ports de-risked with mock-port dry runs and a cross-carrier escalation map.

The challenge
An insurance brokerage transitioning to hosted SIP trunks hit the classic porting trap: porting windows misaligned between the carrier and the UCaaS vendor, port-out validation sat idle over a weekend with no escalation contact, and staff fell back to emergency call-forwards to mobile phones.
What we did
Our escalation process restored voice within hours. Then we made sure it couldn’t happen again: future ports used a mock-port dry-run system, plus a cross-carrier escalation map with weekend coverage.
The outcome
Downtime during a number port isn’t just a carrier issue, without escalation paths and mock ports, even meticulous planning can fail at go-live. This client’s next ports went through without a dropped call.
